Fireworks and anticipation bring in the New Year in DeLand

Happy New Year! Last night I welcomed the New Year with my granddaughters. To be honest my young ladies actually made it to 9pm. Just before bed the girls enjoyed chocolate cake and we went outside and lit sparklers for the girls to play with. Last night will be remembered as one of the best New Years eve celebrations I have enjoyed. Sounds of bottle rockets and firecrackers could be heard throughout the neighborhood as everyone excitedly anticipated the end of 2009 and the beginning of 2010.

DeLand real estate agents can take 45 hour post class

DeLand real estate agents can take their 45 hour post class in DeLand at the DeLand Watson Realty office.

Class will be held at the DeLand Watson Office, 1961 S. Woodland Blvd. The instructor will be Wayne Edgington. Class times are Friday Feb. 6th 5 -10 PM, Saturday, Feb. 7th 9 AM – 6 PM, Sunday, Feb. 8th 9 AM -6 PM and Friday Feb. 13th 5 -10 PM, Saturday, Feb. 14th 9 AM – 6 PM, Sunday, Feb. 15th 9 AM – 5 PM.

November homes sales less than 2007

Early numbers indicate that November 2008 DeLand home sales will fall short of the number of sales for the same time last year. Last year in November 54 homes were reported as selling as compared to 35 this year.

Running a red light in Deland may result in a ticket in the mail

The DeLand-Deltona Beacon Online is reporting that Deland City Officials are considering installing cameras to photograph motorists who run red lights in the city. Violators will receive their traffic tickets in the mail. The system is less expensive than having officers man the intersections. Click on the link above to read the full story.

Deland real estate school

Watson Realty has a real estate class planned for Deland during 2009. The tentative class schedule for the first half of 2009 for the Deland school will be on April 6th – May 7th with the exam on May 11th. Class times will be Mon. Tues. & Thurs. 6PM to 10PM. Deland’s Realty office is located at 1961 S. Woodland Blvd. in DeLand.

Cost are $99.00 for the class + $50.00 for the new text book, material, supplies and class exam.
