December 6th — The DeLand Jaycees will be holding the 60th Annual DeLand Christmas Parade through Downtown DeLand. The parade starts at 5:30 pm and the theme is “Christmas Dreams.”

This weekend I took advantage of the beautiful Central Florida weather and went downtown for the DeLand Fall Festival of the Arts.

The booths held the arts and crafts of talented artists and craftsman from around Central Florida.  There was even a street performer doing tricks that involved fire.

The DeLand-Deltona Beacon Online is reporting that Deland City Officials are considering installing cameras to photograph motorists who run red lights in the city.  Violators will receive their traffic tickets in the mail.  The system is less expensive than having officers man the intersections.  Click on the link above to read the full story.
